CSC’s latest New gTLD Utilization Report shows intriguing evolution in this space. There’s yet further evidence that terms to the left of the dot in .brand domains could be powerful ranking signals for search engines.

And we’ve seen new entrants in our Alternative Top 10 TLDs, with .ninja and .buzz joining a list that remains headed by .media and .social. Overall there’s been a 34% rise in the number of New gTLDs featuring in the Alexa Top 1M since our last report in January 2015.

The full report includes:

  • .brands in search – highlights and observations
  • The number of New gTLDs in the Alexa Top 1M
  • The Top 10 generic New gTLDs
  • CSC’s New gTLD Utilization Indicator – tracking the new gTLDs that are most successfully penetrating the Alexa Top 1M
