In a world of complex WordPress themes, its very hard to find a simple and minimalistic theme. I have noticed that more and more people who buy or download WordPress themes are developers catering to their clients needs. Even if the end user tries to download and configure a theme, its a daunting task for him as the modern day themes have gotten way more complicated. Developers try to pack too many non-essential features in the themes. Even the documentation for some themes are more than 100 pages. In the early days, there were WordPress themes and WordPress plugins. Now it seems that a theme is a big bloated package integrated with multiple plugins.
This is an experimental WordPress theme being released today. I wanted to go back to the roots and see if there still exists that group of people who like to use bare bone themes. I clearly remember my simpler themes being used by .edu and .org websites. Even today, one of my older themes is being used by the University of Georgia on their library blog.
The new WordPress theme is called “Keep Writing”. This theme has a very simple premise with clean typography. Its a lightweight theme with super fast loading times. To meet the current day standards, its mobile-compatible, responsive and built in Bootstrap. The theme is suitable for authors, writers or just about anybody who appreciates minimalism and aesthetics.

Installation & Usage
This is a minimal theme so the installation can’t be that hard. Just upload this theme zip file to your themes section and apply it. It just works out of the box.
